This Privacy Policy applies to the DeepDATA mobile application, developed by ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), hereafter referred to as the “Service Provider”. By downloading, accessing, or using the application, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
The application may collect certain information when you use the service, including but not limited to your name, email address, uploaded species images and scientific contributions, application usage statistics and diagnostic logs necessary for maintaining and improving the service. The application does not collect precise GPS location information from your device.
Collected information may be used for providing and maintaining application functionality, user authentication and account management, managing scientific species contributions, improving application performance and user experience, responding to support requests and inquiries, and ensuring security and preventing unauthorized access. The application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process personal user data.
Users may upload species-related images, observations, and descriptive information through the application. By uploading content, users confirm that the uploaded material does not infringe copyright or ownership rights, the information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge, and the uploaded content is lawful and appropriate. Uploaded content may be reviewed or moderated by the Service Provider before being publicly accessible within the application.
The Service Provider takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored user data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The application may use third-party services that operate under their own privacy policies, including Google Play Services. The Service Provider is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. The application may also interact with external applications available on the user’s device, such as email clients or web browsers, to enable features like contacting the Service Provider or opening external links. These applications operate under their own respective privacy policies and terms.
The Service Provider does not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Information may only be shared when required by applicable law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the Service Provider, or with trusted service providers assisting in application operations.
User information and uploaded content may be retained for as long as necessary to provide application services, maintain scientific records, or comply with legal obligations.
The application does not currently provide an in-app account deletion feature. Users who wish to delete their account or request removal of their personal data may submit a deletion request by contacting the Service Provider at akmucmfri@gmail.com. The Service Provider will review and process such requests in accordance with applicable laws and operational requirements.
The application is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If personal information from a child under 13 is identified, reasonable steps will be taken to remove such information promptly.
Users may request access to their stored personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, and stop using the application at any time by uninstalling it.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Users are encouraged to review this page regularly for any changes. Continued use of the application after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
